Delete your Roamly account

Roamly is published by [to be completed: operatorName]. This page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data.

In the app (takes a minute)

1. Open Roamly and go to your profile tab.
2. Tap the gear (Settings).
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
4. Read the summary and tap Delete.

Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out on every device. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it.

Before you delete: cancel your memberships. Deleting the account does not cancel a membership you bought through the App Store or Google Play, and the store will keep charging you. Cancel first — Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Google Play: Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions — then delete the account.

If you cannot sign in

Write to [to be completed: contactEmail] from the e-mail address on the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will confirm the request with you and delete the account within 30 days. We cannot delete an account on the strength of a message from a different address without other proof that it is yours.

What is deleted immediately

• Your e-mail address, password, name, username, bio, avatar, cover photo, country and interests. The username is released.
• Your posts, comments, likes, saves, collections, follows, trips, stories and the record of stories you watched.
• Your itinerary requests and itineraries.
• Your notification settings and the push tokens for your devices.
• Your blocks.
• Your uploaded photos and videos.
• As a creator: your headline, countries visited and destination pages.

What is kept, and why

• Records of purchases and payouts, without anything that identifies you: the amounts, dates and store transaction references. Accounting and tax law requires us to keep them; the store receipt details are removed.
• Messages you sent, in the other person’s inbox, attributed to “Deleted account”. They are the other person’s copy of the conversation.
• Reports you filed, without your identity, and moderation records about actions taken on your account, so that decisions can be reviewed.
• Usage statistics in aggregate form, no longer linked to you.
• Places you added to the map, no longer linked to you.

Deleting some things without deleting the account

• A post, comment, trip or collection: open it and use its menu.
• A story: open it and tap the menu; stories disappear on their own after 24 hours.
• A message: long-press it and choose Unsend.
• Your profile details: Settings → Edit profile.
• Your saved items: unsave them from the Saved tab.
